"Always felt looked after when I've been hear nurses can't do enough for you. Beds comfy and it's a very clean hospital from what I've seen of it. Hospital food not great but not the worst, slightly better food in main lobby café if you can sneak off. Appointments seem to take a while to come through and waiting times can be long but I think that is in most if not every NHS hospital."

"I had the misfortune to have to go here in December 2017. The Staff are overworked. The food was more a kin to an antique take away. To cap it all off being left in my bed in a corridor for hours really made the experience as close to being on a sinking ship as you can get. Great Staff but a shocking hospital. Maybe stop it being used to try and cure people and turn it into a slaughter house or cemetry. That way the clients won't be able to complain. No Hope Service....Stuck in the fifties. Avoid the place if you are ill & go see a witch doctor."

"I wrote a review of my care and treatment at Ladywell unit and my stay on KG ward in September 2017 and it has NOT been put here why?. I cannot praise the staff from ALL LEVELS high enough,,,the care I received was excellent..40 years ago I had my babies privately in a London hospital and I can honestly say the NDDH was far far better in every way . Please do not believe all the POLITICAL stories you read in the paper..Let the staff get on with their jobs,,support them and best of all give them the respect they deserve..and it seems to me that excellent reports are not mentioned...If it was not for the dedication of Ladywell Unit I would not be here today ,,keep up the wonderful work you do and keep the politics out !!"

"Worst hospital experience I've had. My husband was accidentally delivered here instead of Exeter where he was a cancer patient. They were so confused by what to do with a neutropenic patient at North Devon they put him in an infectious disease room and the staff were scared and confused about who was in there and how contagious were they really. There is an archaic policy where neither tap water nor bottled water is considered sterile enough (the nurse quoted a WHO paper) and so water is boiled before it's served. Problem is, no boiled water is on hand. They started making a batch for my husband only once he was in his room, 6 hrs after arriving to the hospital (for dehydration); which took another 6 hrs to cool. I was forbidden from giving him Evian water I bought in the hospital canteen. Was a gong show in every way. If you have a choice: go to Royal Devon and Exeter."
